Hawaii Theme Blog Hop Day 1

Good Morning Everyone,

Welcome to the Hawaii Themed Blog Hop. What a great way to spend the last few weeks of summer with a Tropical theme hop. Lots of wonderful ladies in the hop!!

Tropical Theme Card. I love how this card turned out. My favorite part of the card is the flowers. I used this new stamp set from Stampin' Up! It is called Fabulous Florets. I'm going to also post how I made the flowers. I used the technique called Heat Emboss Resist.

Heat Emboss Resist-

1. Use embossing buddy over cardstock. Stampin' Up' sells this. It is great for embossing.

2. Stamp Image with versamarker

3. Emboss as desired/ usually using clear or white embossing powder

4. Pour off excess powder

5. Heat using heat tool

6. Sponge or Brayer color over image

BLOG CANDY- Please help me reach 700 followers. My goal is to reach 700 followers by the middle of September or before. When I reach 700 followers I will give away a special blog candy. Please leave a comment and become a follower. I will be giving away Disney Stamps. Please check back on Tuesday August 23 to see if you are the lucky winner!!

Here is the entire line for the hop. Stop by and check out what they made!!

Next stop on the hop is Dawnica- http://www.dawnicakorner.blogspot.com/ She has a wonderful project to share with you.

Thanks so much for stopping by the hop.

Have a great weekend.

Nicolette

Good morning, Nicolette! What beautiful flowers! Love the card. Amazingly, I found I wasn't a follower or maybe I'm just showing as new since I'm on a new hard-drive? Anyway, I've loved your blog like FOREVER! Good luck on hitting 700 and beyond.

Thank you for organizing this hop. GREAT JOB!!

Fondly,

I am going to have to go get some clear embossing powder and try this. I am sure I won't succeed though. My embossing never turns out. :(

Hi Nicolette,
Thanks for putting on this fun hop! I love this theme and was so excited to make my first layout from our Maui trip back in '09! Thanks for the motivation! You are really moving up. I'm still trying to get 500 followers and this hop has helped me gain several new ones so far. Yay!

Have a great day sweet friend,

Be sure to stop by my blog to enter my 500 followers giveaway if you haven't yet. :0)
